1861 Census showing Mary Lindley supporting her mother
This census shows Mary Lindley, herself a widow, supporting her mother Hannah Jenkinson in running her farm after she too became a widow. Mark Lindley-Highfield of Ballumbie Castle took Lindley as part of his surname in honour of this kind action.
